The Zodiac Dirndl - How It Works

This is the base design:

When you choose your sign, we hand pick fabric colors and textures that vibe with your sign to go onto the bodice of the dirndl. Here is an example of Aries. Aries is a spicy fire sign - so we would go with colors like red, orange and pink. 

The apron fabric Is also chosen based on the sign. Aries has a satin charmeuse apron. A fabric that is seductive and bold. 

Here is another example: 

Libra is an air sign and has easy-going, artistic characteristics. The bodice strip colors are light blue, lavender, white and pink. The apron is a lavender georgette which is flowy and breezy. 

What makes this Dirndl so special?

No two dirndls will be the same! While all the Capricorn Dirndls will have the same color scheme, the exact placement and fabrics may change giving each one its own unique character. 

We hand-place each design; carefully curating the strips to be perfect for the design and vibe of the sign. 

And that badass witchy bodice fabric... you'll never find that at your local fabric store.

Q: What if I don’t know my sign? 

A: No problem. If you're wondering what your zodiac or sun sign is, see where your birthday falls in the 12 zodiac sign dates listed below. If you happened to be born on a day when the sun switches from one astrology sign to another — you'll need your birth time to pinpoint your sun sign.

Q: Sun sign? 

The Sun sign is the strongest sign and what most folks will know as “their sign”. It’s the sign you’d read about it in the Horoscope section of the newspaper. Based on your birth time, date, and location, everyone has a Sun, Moon, and Rising sign. Click here to get your birth chart. 

Q: Do I have to choose my Sun Sign for the dirndl colors?

A: Nope! You can choose any sign you’d like. (The only one who will know is me and you.) You could even pick the dirndl based on colors because you like those colors!

Q: Can I order a dirndl with my own custom colors unrelated to my sign?

A: No. But you can order any sign similar to your favorite colors and order a 2nd Suprise Me Apron to make it more customized. 

Q: So, how do I know what color my dirndl will be?

A: The base of the bodice will be a black & white cotton witchy-inspired print, base with assorted colored strips sewn on top (the colors in the corner of the color guide below). The skirt is always black, and the apron is the primary color and fabric based on the fabric and color guide below. We also have digital sketches of each style. However, please note that the colors and textures may vary since each one is handmade and unique. 

Q: What is the skirt length? Can it be made shorter?

A: The default for this dirndl is a Medium length skirt; 26” from waistline to the hem. However, this dirndl is made-to-order; you can request a different length in the notes of your order. 

Q: How long does this dirndl take to make?

A: Each Dirndl is made-to-order and takes approximately 6-8 weeks to ship.
