Day 9: Cultural Mash-up
I thought I would mix it up a little bit for Day 9 of my 14-day Dirndl Challenge. My aunt gave me a skirt that she got in India and I thought it would be fun to wear that with a dirndl vest and blouse! I wore the Sweetheart Blouse with lace and the Sweet Distraction Vest (from 2011) with the Indian Skirt.
Day 8: Marketing Monday (with some outfit changes)
Monday is the day of the week when I work on marketing, which means a decent amount of sitting on the computer. I chose the Guten Morgen dirndl with the Sparkle Organza Blouse for day 9 because it was finally bright and sunny outside... however it was not comfortable because I was still so stuffed from all the food I ate at the birthday party the day before. It was simply too tight, and I was getting cranky.
Day 7: Fun with Family
Yesterday was my cousin's son, Erik's 10th birthday, so we all went over to his house to celebrate. We had roast lamb, fresh home-grown hydroponic lettuce and pasta. For day 7, I went with the Day Break Dirndl, Sweetheart Blouse with Draped Sleeves in black, black tights and a sweater. I chose this dirndl because I thought it was springy but also could pass as a party dress. With a black blouse I don't think it looks super dirndl-y.
Day 6: Work Work, House Work, & Bluegrass Bands
Day 5: Unexpected Day off with the Hubby
Friday's have always been a strange day for me as an entrepreneur. This feeling that the week is over and I got nothing done always seems to creep up and grab me by the throat. A feeling of anxiety and overwhelm tends to set in on Fridays... but not yesterday!
Day 4: Cleaning During the Day, Wine Time at Night
Yesterday was the Lincoln Square Spring Wine Stroll. It's a really fun event where people can buy tickets, check in, get a wine glass and a map... and stroll through the streets of Lincoln Square, stopping at local businesses and tasting wine! In order to prepare for the event... we needed to clean up with studio! Sam and I have been working our asses off trying to get all these One-of-a-Kind Dirndls out on time, so needless to say sweeping, dusting and keeping tidy was not on the to do list... until yesterday!
Day 3: Adventures in the Grocery Store
Day 2: Just a Tuesday
Dirndl Challenge - Day 1: Let's Go Hawks
Yesterday I decided to wear my Blackhawks "Away" Dirndl to show my support for our beloved Chicago Blackhawks as they faced the St. Louis Blues in game 7 of the Stanley Cup playoffs. I wore it with a long sleeve black t-shirt, black leggings and motorcycle boots (during the day I wore my batches). Unfortunately it didn't help because they lost and now the season is over for us... sad face 😔
My 14-Day Challenge... and it's not a juice cleanse!
